Intralux Student Luminaire Design Awards Competition 2010 The Intralux Student Luminaire Design Awards Competition is back in 2010 – the call for entries is now open – and the deadline for Stage 1 entries is Friday August 6th. If you are enrolled in fulltime or part-time study at a Queensland tertiary institution, we invite you to enter your luminaire designs into competition. The design should explore this year’s theme: ‘working with light’.  The stage 1 round of entries only requires the submission of a designer’s statement (300-500 words describing your design idea) and some pictures or drawings outlining the concept – so it couldn’t be easier to get your idea into competition. This year there are 3 categories for competition: • The winner in the category “Best Overall Luminaire Design” will receive a cash prize of $1500.  • The winning designer in the “Outstanding Creative Merit” category receives a cash prize of $1000. • The winner of the “Innovation Award” will receive a cash prize of $500.  Prizes will be awarded at the IES Queensland Annual Awards dinner.  Entries must be the original work of the student designer/s.
