The Qld Chapter is providing an opportunity for members to tour the award winning Translational Research Institute (TRI), on Wednesday 5th March 2014.

The TRI received a 2013 Queensland Lighting Design Award of Excellence; and its Bespoke Cylindrical Pendants received a Queensland Luminiare Design Award of Commendation. The TRI has received a swag of other awards for its engineering, architecture, and interiors.

The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is Australia's newest and most comprehensive scientific research and biopharmaceutical facility. TRI is one of only a few places worldwide where new biopharmaceuticals and treatments can be discovered, manufactured, and tested in one location.

Jared Lillywhite, lead designer from Aurecon, will host a tour of this iconic building and an informative presentation about the philosophy and innovative design of the building's lighting.

Attendees should assemble at the building's main entrance, 37 Kent Street Wooloongabba, at 5:45 for a prompt 6pm start to the tour.

There is limited on-street parking in Kent Street; but the TRI is immediately adjacent Dutton Park train station for easy access via public transport.

Please RSVP either via the Facebook event page, or by email to qldchapter@iesanz.org no later than Friday 28th February 2014.
