Designers from the lighting and architecture industries met at National Trust Centre on Observatory Hill on a winters night in August.

Participants were separated into teams and each team was allocated a planet in our solar system.  A range of exterior luminaires generously provided by our sponsors were distributed amongst the teams.  Each team collaborated and created some very original astrological interpretations. Representatives from the Sydney Observatory gave the societies members a brief overview of lighting for minimal sky glow.  The Mars team was awarded first prize while everyone celebrated with pizzas and bubbly against the stunning backdrop of the Sydney city skyline.
