The 2013 Awards dinner was held on Friday 22 November at the Sydney Convention Centre. Despite thunderstorms and traffic chaos the show went on with nearly 400 guests in the house. Tables decorated with chandeliers & wall to wall graphic presentations were new & impressive additions. Our MC Vince Sorrenti exceeded expectations & even seemed to enjoy learning some new lighting phrases.

A special thanks to the evening’s musical accompaniment provided by the Dave Bell Trio, the stage manager Morgan Graham who liaised between performers, catering and technical staff and Matt Pemberton of Wideview Productions whose ongoing input not only enabled the wide screen graphics but he also operated the graphics on the night.

And of course thanks to those involved in judging & the ongoing work of the NSW CMC, in particular the mammoth contributions from Jan Primrose in technical production & Ryan Shamier in graphics production, all made for a stunning event.

The night does not go on without our generous sponsors each year - 3S Lighting, Advanced Lighting, Chameleon, Clevertronics, Concord, ECC, Erco, Euroluce, GM Poles, International Lighting, Jade Cross, Klik Systems, LED Lighting, Light Project, Osram, Philips, Pulvin, Thorn, Vossloh Schwabe, Xenian, Zumtobel, VBO Australia & York Plastics.

The Emeritus Professor Warren Julian OBE, who has been to countless NSW awards' dinners, was overheard commenting “it was the best function he could recall”.

Preparations are already underway for next year’s event.
