Standards Australia “has not established any specific manufacturing Standards for LED lights. Modules and units supplied with all types of LED lights used indoors and outdoors should be tested to meet IEC/EN/BS 62031 Ed 1.0, LED modules for general lighting – Safety specifications.”

Australian Standards Approved Project Proposals 2nd & 3rd Round
Revision of AS/NZS 2144:2002 - Traffic Signal Lanterns
Scope:  To review and update changes required in existing standard AS/NZ 2144:2002 - Traffic Signal Lanterns due to advances in light source technology and to update test methods for these lanterns. 
 
Review, modify or adopt the latest IEC editions of specific luminaire and control gear standards and the general requirements standards 60598.1 and 61347.1.
Scope: To update selected existing and introduce new critical safety standards. Specific products, ie recessed luminaire barrier amendment, recessed luminaires, night lights, LED drivers and retrofit lamps, T8/T5 adaptors and T8/LED retrofit linear lamps that have safety related concerns and require a joint AS/NZS standard to fully address these concerns. The general requirements standards 60598 and 61347 need updating to support these items.

 

 

STANDARDS AUSTRALIA has approved the following project:

Title: Luminaires - Part 2-12: Particular requirements - Mains socket-outlet mounted nightlights

Draft Number:  DR AS/NZS 60598.2.12

Project Committee: EL-041 Lamps and Related Equipment.
