The IESANZ Awards recognise and champion professionalism, ingenuity, and originality in lighting applications and technology. The Awards are assessed on intrinsic excellence, and are not intended as a competition.
There are two levels of Award:

Entry cost?
Current Members of the IESANZ can avail of a special Early Bird offer for one of their own entries. For Early Bird Entries, please proceed to payment as normal. Once you are at the cart, the Early Bird discount code will be there for you to apply. Additional entries can be made with payment of the Entry Fee of $400 (AU or NZ) + GST
Non-members may enter with payment of the Entry Fee of $400 (AU or NZ) + GST
Entries cannot be made on behalf of third-parties
Timeline
The Awards programme for this year will close on 30 June 2025. Incomplete entries will be rolled forward into the next the 2026 cycle.
The exclusive Early bird offer for members will close on the 15th May, 2025.

How to Enter?
Entries are made via the website only. Members may login to the members area and proceed to the Awards page to commence their Entry. Non-Members should contact the Secretariat via email secretariat@iesanz.org or phone, to obtain their entry details.
On logging in, a link to the Entry will be available in the Members page which will take you through to the Entry Form. Snapshots of the Entry form are provided here, to guide the process.
The Yellow fields should be filled with accurate spelling, as this information will appear on the Award without alteration.
The Entry can be saved at any stage using the button at the bottom of the Form, and continued till the Submit button on the last page is clicked. Once submitted, no further editing is possible.
Below is the step by step instruction on how to complete the awards application:
What is needed for the Entry Submission?
A written description of the key merits of the Entry is a requirement. In addition to clearly stating the areas of excellence of the Entry, it should provide background to assist in adjudication.
Some suggested questions to guide the text are
- What was the Client Brief?
- What was the Client Feedback?
- What innovation was applied?
- What was applied beyond the Standards?
- Is there Flexibility of use within the lighting design?
- What were the difficulties with the design and how were they overcome?
- What Sustainability and Energy Efficiencies were applied to the design?
- What lighting Technologies/ Controls were applied?
- What are the Maintenance capabilities applied to the design?
- What part of the design process that the Designer is most proud of?
Images to support the text are helpful. There is an upper limit of 10. These can be high quality photographs, diagrams, sketches or graphs. They should be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format at a resolution to allow legible reproduction at A4 size. Usually file sizes of 5MB or greater are required.
The Image files must be uploaded with the numbers 01 to 10 prefixed to the filename. The main written description can reference these numbers, if needed.
The Images should have a caption to explain or if needed, draw the Juries attention to any specific element.
In the Copyright box, the Photographer or source to be credited for the image must be provided. Copyright boxes should have ‘None’ if no individual is to be credited.
Note: Key considerations for photographic images –
The Images can be ‘adjusted’ to correct for overall Exposure, Colour Temperature and Cropped for relevance. No other corrections are allowed, and if detected may lead to the images being discarded from the entry. Specifically, any selective image manipulation or digital brushing, will lead to it being discarded.
If a Video file is to be submitted, it should be uploaded to a filesharing location or Media hosting location such as YouTube or Vimeo, and a link provided in the video box.
The third section of the form allows inclusion of Teams for the Entry.
Please select the number of teams to be credited and fill their details.
The Teams will be credited on the Award too.
The final page has the Submit button and once this is clicked, the Entry is locked and cannot be accessed or edited.
