Our industry leading Nationally Accredited lighting courses are popular with new and seasoned professionals across the building and construction sectors, including engineers, builders, designers, architects, lighting professionals, and those involved in the development and regulation of lighting policy.
Quite simply, we are passionate about Lighting and everything that it brings to life, business, sport, play and the world. IES: The Lighting Society was created with a mission to promote the art and science of lighting and to disseminate information about lighting to interested parties. Our lighting courses and highly credentialed facilitators have much to share with anyone wanting to learn more.
Our two endorsed short courses, Introduction to Light and Sustainable Lighting Application, are held live online. Our 2-year part-time course is currently available in face-to-face format only, however, we're taking steps to introduce a new online Advanced Diploma course soon.
IES: The Lighting Society currently runs both a scholarship and bursary to promote the art and science in lighting.
The scholarship is provided in memory of Klaus Engehardt and the Bursary is in memory of Gwenyth Ewens.
IES: The Lighting Society invites members to apply for the Gwenyth Ewens Memorial Bursary. Gwenyth, a strong advocate of the IESANZ and education and research, bequeathed a sum of money to the IESANZ from which the earnings support the bursary (see attached for more information on Gwenyth Ewens). The bursary is to provide a contribution towards the expenses of a member participating in an educational or research based professional development activity in lighting.
